Paul Budnitz modeled our compact Model No.4 as a cross between the nimble European mini-bicycles built in the 1960’s and the BMX bicycles he rode in his youth — totally re-engineered with a belt drive, and full-sized adult cockpit.

This bicycle’s ability to accelerate rapidly and turn on a dime makes it ideal for navigating tight city streets. It’s a blast for jumping curbs and tearing through back alleys.

Model No.4’s compact size also allows it to fit perfectly in small apartments, offices, and elevators, which is why this bike has become a cult favorite among our customers in New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Mumbai.

Your choice of fat 2.25" tires or narrow 35C slicks from Germany.

Includes handmade Budnitz titanium riser handlebar, seatpost, seatpost clamp, and badges. Race-quality components from Chris King, Thomson, Velocity, and FSA are standard. Optional titanium component upgrade available as well. Titanium parts are extremely lightweight, will never rust or corrode, and will last a lifetime.

Carbon belt drive is light, silent, and requires no grease — so you won’t get your pants dirty. Single speed or a clean and quiet Shimano Alfine 11-speed internal transmission. Internal cable routing and Yokozuna housing simplify the look of the frame and protect cables from the elements.
